"Beware if you buy certain items there. We lived in Bangkok for 8 years and bought various beautiful statues from Krishna's treasures, but when it came time for us to move two months ago the 3 shipping companies who visited our home to provide an estimate for the shipping costs to move our personal items warned us that they would need to obtain permission from the Thai Government for every item we purchased at Krishna's. All 3 shipping companies warned us that the Garuda statue may not be allowed to leave the country. I called Rajesh at Krishna's to ask him why they sold us a piece that could not leave the country. They sell beautiful statues loved by Thais, Indians and tourists, alike. So what are tourists and Expats expected to do once we have purchased these items and cannot take them when we move away. Rajesh said he would try to get permission for me or arrange for the piece to be shipped by FedEx. I even asked him if he would just buy the Garuda back, but he never contacted me again. In the end we could not get the approval to take the statue out. It is still in Bangkok at Santa Fe Relocators, our shipping company. The $500 we paid to buy the beautiful bronze statue went down the drain...."
