What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Koh Ngai is overwhelmingly praised as a slice of paradise, lauded for its pristine white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and tranquil atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the island's natural beauty, opportunities for snorkeling, and the peaceful escape it offers. However, some note the limited dining variety and the inconvenience of no ATMs, recommending visitors come prepared with cash and appropriate footwear.
"A fantastically beautiful, quiet little island. No roads, no cars, no mopeds. A beautiful main beach with about 10 bungalows Hotels and a tent camp. Each complex has a restaurant and a small bar, which can also be visited by guests who are not staying in the complex. There are also perhaps 5 bar-restaurants without a hotel, at least that was my impression.
The rainforest begins behind the beach and the bungalow complexes. The sounds of the sea on the beach alternate with the sounds of birds, monkeys etc. as you walk towards the rainforest.
Please note: There is no Seven Eleven but only small hotel stores. There is also no ATM. You can pay by card in your own hotel, but if you like variety, you should bring cash for other restaurants and bars.
Swimming shoes are very useful, the beach is partly stony.
Access is by boat, depending on the tide you have to walk through the water to the hotel, so beach shoes are also an advantage and it helps to carry manageable luggage."

"Awesome spot. Stayed here in 89 with my girlfriend. Was only 2 places on the island. $1 a night for a hut. Looks a tad more upmarket. Would definitely like to visit again soon."
