What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Bangkok Butterfly Garden and Insectarium as a beautiful, free sanctuary within the city, offering a peaceful escape with vibrant butterflies and lush greenery. While the educational displays are appreciated, some reviewers note that noise from children can disrupt the tranquil atmosphere, urging for more respect towards the delicate insects. Overall, it's a highly recommended spot for nature lovers and families seeking a calm experience.
"A wonderful weekend stop for anyone who loves butterflies. Located inside Rot Fai Park, the insectarium is well-designed with clear information boards, lush plants, and plenty of butterflies flying freely around. It’s meant to be a calm, peaceful space where you can slow down and appreciate how delicate these creatures are.
However, I did feel a bit sorry for the butterflies during my visit. Even though visitors are supposed to keep quiet, there were many kids running, shouting, and chasing the butterflies. It disturbed the atmosphere and clearly stressed the butterflies. I really hope parents help keep things calm so everyone — and the butterflies — can enjoy the space.
Aside from that, the insectarium is clean, well-maintained, and great for learning. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re already spending time in Rot Fai Park."

"We had a lovely time walking around this butterfly garden - what a wonderful thing to have in the city. We had a walk round the park - which in itself is an amazing place and then the butterfly garden. It is a very peaceful place, beautifully arranged with stunning planting and such beautiful butterflies and a few naughty squirrels. A real treat and for free. Oh and I nearly forgot - lots of interesting information and butterfly displays on the way in."

"Today I visited the Bangkok Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, and it was a refreshing and peaceful experience. The garden is beautifully maintained, with a wide variety of butterflies flying freely in the large dome-shaped enclosure. Walking inside feels like stepping into a colorful, natural wonderland.
There are also informative displays about different species of butterflies and insects, making it both enjoyable and educational. The surrounding park area adds to the calm atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing stroll. It wasn’t very crowded, which made the visit even more pleasant.
Overall, it’s a lovely spot to spend an hour or two, especially for nature lovers, families, or anyone looking for a quiet break in Bangkok. 🦋✨"
