Reviews Summary
Masingini Forest is praised as a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path escape from Zanzibar's crowds, offering guided nature walks, wildlife spotting, and stunning views. While some find it a bit pricey for a simple walk, most appreciate the unique experience and the knowledgeable guides.
"My favorite place in Zanzibar to get away from the crowds and the noisy traffic. The area is very quiet, peaceful and gets very few visitors. It's a guided tour around a part of the forest. You'll learn about the history of the area, the plants that grow there and about the wildlife that live here. Do bring something to keep you hydrated."

"Great Place to go for a walk or hike through the jungle.
This is off the beaten track, hardly any tourists around, according to the guide, maybe 2 or 3 cars arrive in a day.
They charge USD 10 per person, that includes the guide, they expect a tip though.
You can see three types of monkeys and the guide explains the plants and trees if you are interested.
Another highlight is the view over stone town and Zansibar port.
We went on a 1.5 hrs walk, you should have proper shoes (trainers) and wear socks. The guide told us, there are other hiking options, 3 to 5 hrs.
Please bring water, there is no shop nearby.
If you like walking, nature and monkeys, this is a must visit place."
