What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Orchid Island is praised for its stunning natural beauty, unique Tao culture, and excellent opportunities for snorkeling and diving. Visitors appreciate the freedom of exploring by scooter and the island's raw, untouched charm. However, some find the food quality inconsistent and overpriced, and the ferry journey can be challenging due to rough seas.
"Beautiful island, lots to do. Snorkeling, deep sea fishing, ride on a rental scooter around the island in a half day. VERY HOT, you change clothes two times a day. There's an ATM inside the souvenir shop when you pass by for departure. 7-11 convenient store. The Tao tribe has interesting clothes, especially the men 🤔"

"Get ready to soak up the sun and explore an island rich in culture, stunning scenery, and friendly locals. Renting a scooter is the best way to get around and truly enjoy everything the island has to offer. Fuel for two days will only cost about 50-60 NT. Traveling from east to west takes just 35-40 minutes at a speed of 50-60 km/h, and from north to south takes only 30-35 minutes at the same speed.
Be sure to bring your own water bottle to refill along the way, as the island is small and lacks adequate space for waste disposal."

"蘭嶼 is the most mystery island of four near-Taiwan's island (the other three: 澎湖, 小琉球 and 綠島). I strongly recommend to participate the guide tour to know more about this island. When I first time arrived this place, I rode the motorcycle and followed the guide. He told a lot of mystery tales to those amazing shape stones sit along the coast, which were formed by eroding and weathering. I also saw the famous canoe made by Yami people, which were drew with beautiful color and specially decorated on the head and tail. This beautiful canoe is a traditionally representative stuff in flying fish season. However, the visitor cannot take on the canoe in the flying fish season due to the traditional taboo.
There are two night markets, two convenient store and one supermarket in this land. The supply is fairly enough. If you want to take a trip to 蘭嶼, I recommend the itinerary to 4 or 5 days to play all activities. However, the traffic to this island is a big issue. The boat takes much time. The plane is too small to book and it is easily canceled because of the weather."
