What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Nanya Night Market is praised for its authentic Taiwanese street food and lively atmosphere, offering a genuine local experience. Visitors enjoy the wide variety of delicious and affordable eats, as well as the shopping opportunities in the side street. While generally a positive experience, some reviews mention occasional safety concerns and the market's size compared to other famous night markets.
"As someone from a place that doesn't have night markets (thanks Sydney), I was super excited for this and yeah it didn't disappoint.
Plenty of food stalls with a variety of foods, and it's great seeing a lot of locals around because it indicates that these night markets are a large part of their culture. It's a fairly long walk and despite it saying that vehicles are not allowed, you'll still see someone on a scooter every now and then.
We are some flame blasted beef, deep fried squid, played some games and had some sugar coated fruit for dessert. This place is great. Hard recommend."

"An incident on 6th October 2025, when was Mid-Autumn Festival🎑 Around 11pm, there’re two local girls shouting @ a Senior-aged Taiwanese man, who was touched 3 different girls’ bottoms by using his hands! So disgusting!
A girl shouted at him and knocked his back, but he has no shame without any apologies! Apart from that, all local male guests and businessmen kept silence, to pretend nothing happened in there! I was totally shocked by such “PUBLIC SEXUAL HARASSMENT” @ Nanya Night Market, as well as their nasty reactions to encourage more men to touch and hassle girls publicly!
Afterwards, I asked these two girls if they’d like to call the police, but they said that senior-aged Taiwanese man was doing public harassment quite often, in the night market, but no one really cares! It’s unbelievable for such Public SEXISM ISSUES to be tolerated by Taiwan Society🇹🇼publicly!
A nice try @ Nanya night market for some street foods :) That’s a cozy night market but can’t compare to Raohe Night Market, where has few food stalls have received Michelin Bib Gourmand awards🏆"

"The largest night market in the district, Banqiao runs north to south along Nanya East Road from Guanqian West road to Section 1, Nanya South Road. In addition there is a narrow side street running perpendicular to the northeast, filled with small retail vendors, giving the market it's top status for the area.
I would consider this night market to be larger than Ningxia, while less dense than Roahe.
In addition to foods there is some gaming ar the northwestern end.
There is a small park location at the north end, Shibaluohan park, where there is a public bathroom."
