Reviews Summary

Nanmen Market is lauded for its modern, air-conditioned comfort and a wide selection of high-quality dried goods and traditional snacks. Visitors appreciate its cleanliness and convenient location near the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. However, some find the prices to be on the higher side compared to more traditional markets.

"Second time visiting here and they really have a large variety of dried fruits. However I’m not sure if the price is really cheap as some appears to be expensive, maybe a local resident can also share which places have lower price dried fruits?

It’s really clean and easily accessible by Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall train station."

Lewis Lau

"This is the new Nanmen Market where all the shops were neatly stacked and air conditioned. It has three levels where the basement is where to find fresh groceries, meat, fish, etc. the first floor is where you can find cooked food and snacks. Finally, the third floor is the food court and some small clothing boutiques.

This was supposedly a must see spot in Taipei, but I think it’s over-hyped and certainly way over-priced. You can easily find eateries as good or better just about anywhere in Taipei or find groceries at a better price and selections at a traditional Taiwanese market or even a modern supermarket. This was a hard pass for this traveler."

Big Fish Dive Club

"It's cool to see a vision of what an updated traditional market could look like! It feels more like a department store or small mall with its bright wide aisles, multiple floors, and indoor A/C. 1F has various stalls, 2F has a food court, and I believe 3F has fashion/clothes?
Also feels like things might be a bit higher priced"
