"Since its establishment, Longyuan Temple has celebrated its 200th anniversary (2025). Although it has been relocated once, the temple at its current location has witnessed more than a century of ups and downs. As one of the most historically significant ancient temples in Longtan, it stands quietly in the city, accompanying the growth and changes of generations.
The main deity enshrined in the temple is Shennong the Great, the god who protects agriculture. In Longtan, where agriculture is the foundation of the nation, whether it is tea, rice, or the harvest of various crops, in addition to the hard work of farmers, it also carries the faith and gratitude of the gods' blessing. Even with the change of times and the restructuring of industries, this respect for the land and nature still continues to this day through Longyuan Temple.
In addition to Shennong the Great, the temple also enshrines Emperor Wenchang, the Holy Mother of Heaven, and the God of Wealth and God of Wealth. Each god protects different aspects of people's lives. The Tai Sui Hall is a special feature. Sixty Tai Sui Star Gods are neatly arranged on both sides of the hall. They are majestic and awe-inspiring. Many believers come here to pray for peace.
As Longtan gradually moves towards modernization, the appearance of the countryside has changed, but Longyuan Palace has always been the spiritual support and the center of faith for people. Whether it is the elderly praying for peace every morning or parents bringing their children to experience traditional culture, the temple is always full of the warmth of life. This is not only a holy place for worship, but also a place for people to stop and feel the inner peace.
For foreign travelers, when they come to Longyuan Palace, they might as well slow down their pace. Not only can they offer a stick of incense to the gods, but they can also walk along the alleys, taste the local food, and feel the warmth and human feelings of this city. Longyuan Palace is not just an ancient temple, but more like an elder who quietly guards this town, gently and steadily."

Longyuan Temple is a Shennong Temple (a temple dedicated to the god of agriculture), primarily dedicated to Emperor Shennong (the Five Grains). It is said to have been founded in the fifth year of the Daoguang era (1825). Legend has it that the statue of Emperor Shennong currently enshrined in Longyuan Temple at the time of its founding was originally moved from Yongchang Palace in Daxi.
It's located in the center of town and has a roof."
