The most thrilling part of our Kuching trip was the hidden gems of Bau: Fairy Cave and Wind Cave. There's something so enchanting about venturing into the depths of a mysterious cave, navigating the hidden trails with only headlamps and marvelling at the vast, complex rock formations. We also had a bat-tastic 🦇 experience in Wind Cave! Bring lots of drinking water and towel because we were soaked...

Reviews Summary

Visitors find Fairy Cave a worthwhile natural attraction, praising its unique limestone formations and the tranquil mini garden. The opportunity to see bats and hike to the summit adds to the appeal. However, some note that the cave isn't extensive and can be challenging for those with claustrophobia, with limited facilities.

"It’s worth visiting! The cave is formed naturally by the ocean waves’ abrasion. It’s easy to walk inside the cave. It’s worth taking a look with Buddha carvings on the wall."

Jesslyn Foo

"Such a cool temple with an interesting history! The passage to the shrine of Benzaiten is very narrow and you have to crouch at one point to get through. We got there right before they closed which was nice because it wasn’t crowded. However, the lights did shut off when we were in the cave so just make sure someone knows you’re in there if you go in the evening!"

Bethany Ortquist

"It is a very nice place to visit while you are in Keelung. Please don't go inside the small cave if you are claustrophobic!! And yes do visit the nearby lighthouse on top of the hill!!"
