What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Dongshan Coffee Road for its beautiful mountain scenery and the unique coffee culture. The winding roads are a highlight for drivers and cyclists, offering a refreshing escape. However, some note that coffee quality can be inconsistent, and the lack of streetlights requires careful planning for evening visits.
"The ride is very scenic. However as it was a smoggy day when we drove through, it was not as beautiful as it could be. For coffee we stopped at a rustic resort which was perched quite high up. Unfortunately their house brew was lacking in flavour. I've been told that coffee from Yunlin is generally more superior to those from Tainan."

"I don't know why people are dissing this spot. I don't even drink coffee and I love this road. It's a beautiful drive through the mountains in Southern Taiwan. Along the way there are quite a few lookouts that are simply breathtaking. It is true that streetlights are lacking, so you need to plan your visit accordingly. Luckily, from what I remember, there aren't too many sections that are single-track. So it's relatively safe even if you are driving at night with just your headlights illuminating."
