What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the location offers beautiful views and a nearby coffee shop, but the challenging access road and limited historical remains can be disappointing. The strict rules against photography and limited English information also detract from the experience for some.
"Great little coffee shop which is perfectly air conditioned inside with also seating options outside. Good coffee options and delicious croissants"

"Very lovely private resort. Nothing is left of the original monastery aside from a few relics in display boxes or as decoration. If you come expecting a museum or a faithful reconstruction, you will be disappointed. They are only open twice a week and you will need to arrange a ride that can handle off road conditions if you still want to go. The "tour guide" who will talk to you about the location doesn't know much English and there won't be English translated information to take with you. You're not allowed to take photos or any kind of recording, but they will take an instant photo for you to keep if you want. There is no souvenir shop either. Despite it supposedly being open to the public as a cultural site, it is clearly being used for private entertainment and they don't actually want anyone to visit who isn't invited. Don't give yourself high expectations if you still decide to go."

"The most awful road you can imagine, takes you to a closed monastery, website says its open. Don't bother it could ruin your car tyres, given 1 star as I can't choose less"

Navigating the Challenging Access
The challenging access contributes to the site's secluded feel, but it also means that spontaneous visits can be difficult. Planning ahead and ensuring you have the right transportation is key to a successful trip. The effort, however, is often rewarded with stunning views and a sense of discovery away from the usual tourist crowds.
Understanding the Site's History and Current Use
It's important to note that the site is not a preserved museum or a faithful reconstruction. Instead, it appears to be utilized for private events and entertainment, with limited public access.
