What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Zermatt's hiking trails for their breathtaking Matterhorn views and diverse landscapes, ranging from rocky terrains to lush meadows. The accessibility of many trails, especially when utilizing mountain transport, is a significant plus. However, some trails can be challenging due to altitude, and weather conditions can impact visibility and trail access.
"A beautiful route at an altitude of over 2,500 metres where you can see the beauty of the High Alps and can almost touch the Matterhorn. On the route you can also see places where glaciers were present in the past, but also see the impact of the greenhouse effect on the earth. The route is not technically difficult. There are a few fairly steep climbs with minor ascents. The route can be covered in 2h45min without hurrying."

"Magnificent hike with rocky, almost lunar landscapes in the first part (starting from Trockener Steg). Initially it even seemed easy but then I started to feel being at almost 3000m and I admit it's a moderate hike. But nothing a fit person cannot do and it's not long."
Baiba Gasūne
"One of the better hiking trails in the area. Go on when the visibility is super clear as the entire point is hiking against a clear view of the Matterhorn. Doing this downhill it’s not only easier but offers the better views. Highly recommended. This is doable with children that are probably 8 or above as the terrain requires decent amount of concentration to avoid slipping."
