What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise La Chaux Plateau for its absolutely stunning mountain views and the excellent dining experience at the local restaurant. The friendly service and delicious food, especially the unique desserts, are frequently highlighted as major draws. While access via gondola is popular, some may find it a bit pricey.
"As it is the only restaurant this far up the mountain, it's a good thing that (restaurant name) had great service, food, and a view. This café perched atop one of the mountains surrounding Verbier Switzerland, and accessible by both road and gondola based right in the downtown, is a wonderful place to stop for even an hour or two, and the weather in July made it perfectly comfortable to eat out on the deck without even a sweater. For my late lunch I dined upon the (food name) which consisted of a large salad across the plate, with small pieces of baguette topped with a round of mild goat cheese, and drizzles of honey. For an after-lunch bite I thoroughly enjoyed the "pie of the day" which had a base of buttery flaky crust, slathered with a soft and mild layer of ricotta cheese, topped with fresh raspberries and a jelly. It was refreshing, and just barely sweet; making for the perfect dessert to share, or have all to yourself."
