"We stopped at Rapperswil during our tour of Heidiland and Liechtenstein from Zurich. The castle was built in the early 13th century AD by the house of Rapperswil in the former independent city of Rapperswil. The castle and the museum are listed in the Swiss inventory of cultural property of national and regional significance as Class A objects of national importance. It is about one hour drive from Zurich. The view from castle of Lake Zurich and surrounding mountains was stunning. Only limited portions are open for visitors, According to their website many halls and courtyard are available for weddings, meetings and parties. There is also boat service up to Zurich. It is worth spending some time in this small beautiful quaint town."
