"Breathtaking hiking area. We started in Champex-Lac and went to Fenêtre d'Arpette at 2665m. The saddle provides great views of the glacier, the surrounding mountains and the valleys. The last part is quite steep but otherwise it is not too strenuous. It took us about 6 hours with 2 food breaks.
If you keep the volume down you might be able to spot some marmots, they are coming quite close (never pet or feed the wildlife though).
Overall the trip was completely worth it and we had a great time there.
PS: the tourist office in Champex-Lac did a great job informing us about the possibilities and current conditions."
