I'm staying in Gimmelwald for a few days and thought about doing a big multi-day hike at the end of my stay (late July / early August). Since Oeschinensee is a popular tourist destination and at least from a satellite perspective not too far from Gimmelwald, I was wondering if…

"quiet a big hut which can get very busy with up to about 100 guests in high season.
but its a very modern hut with great bathrooms and everything super clean.
the food was also very nice and the whole service was well organized and tip top!"

"Neat mountain hut, very friendly people, and good food. The sleeping quarters are a bit cramped, and the bedrooms could use a bit more ventilation. Otherwise, absolutely nothing to complain about. Beautiful location!"

"Amazing and very steep climb (coming from Gspalthornhütte) but extremely well maintained and doable trail. And then miraculously you reach the summit and there is the hut – one of the very best locations I’ve seen, surrounded by glaciers and mountains marching off to the horizon. Very comfortable quarters, friendly and helpful staff. Only nit was dinner - veg soup, little bit of salad (ran out) and then rice with what looked like more of the same soup over it. But I’m grateful to have anything at such a remote location and really appreciate the people
who make it possible. And the descent to Kandersteg the next day is a long lovely walk. Much rather do it that way than
descending the steeper trail on the other side."
