"First time trying the floating experience and I couldn’t hope for better ! Super friendly host, cosy place and absolutely amazing and relaxing experience. I haven’t felt like this since a very long time. Thank you Christophe, will definitely be back soon !"

"What an incredible experience! I’m a frequent floater in San Diego, California, and wasn’t sure what to expect here in Bern. Christoph was welcoming, informative, and has a wonderful sense of humor!
I treated my sister to her first float, and let her decide if she wanted the tank or the pool - she chose the tank, and I was happy to try the pool. I LOVED how much space I had and since I’m quite tall (180cm), it felt as though I was lost in space, just floating.
Highly recommend!"

"A very unique, pleasant and relaxing experience! I cannot fully compare the feeling of floating to any other experience that I remember since being born... which made it feel very special. In my recent first experience at Float Bern in the tank I felt quite tense in the beginning of the session. My muscles somehow tried to "hold on" and I remember them twitching a couple of times, before slowly one area after another relaxed and helped me lose a lot of the tension (I am a typical office worker that spends lots of hours in front of computers, with frequent tensions in the neck, thoracic spine, shoulders and lower back). About halfway through the session I noticed how practical and easy it was to really stretching my whole body out from head to toe - probably thanks to the relaxed muscles and the lack of gravitational forces that usually pull your feet toward the floor. As instructed by the owner toward the end of the session I also focused on trying out the mobility of the spine through some light twisting and it really felt great and had a very smooth feel without the usual tension. As for my mind, at the beginning I was a little nervous about being claustrophobic and worried about not getting out again :D That fairly quickly went away, about the same time my body started to relax and let go. Throughout the session I was always awake, although a couple of times I caught myself almost falling asleep, but because it was my first time doing it my mind wandered off quite a bit and I was in my thoughts a lot (probably because I am a very strong thinker). In the end the doubts I had in the beginning were unfounded and there was nothing to worry about. Overall a great experience with the floating as well as with the owner, a super nice guy! I recommend it and will probably do it again sometime."

The Aare River Float Experience
When considering an Aare River float trip, it's important to be aware of the water conditions. While popular in summer, the river's current can be strong, and the water temperature in early spring might be too cold for comfort. The Reddit community advises that June and July are generally the best months for a pleasant experience. Always be mindful of safety, follow local guidelines, and consider your swimming abilities before embarking on this natural adventure.
For those seeking a more controlled and therapeutic experience, Float Bern offers a different kind of floating. This indoor facility provides sensory deprivation tanks filled with Epsom salt water, allowing for deep physical and mental relaxation. It's a unique way to de-stress and disconnect, offering a stark contrast to the natural flow of the Aare River but equally focused on rejuvenation.
Float Bern: Sensory Deprivation Therapy
Reviewers consistently praise the deeply relaxing and unique nature of the experience. Many office workers find it particularly beneficial for alleviating chronic tension in the neck, shoulders, and back. The lack of external stimuli allows for a mental reset, helping to clear the mind and reduce anxiety. The spaciousness of both the tanks and pools is often highlighted, ensuring comfort even for taller individuals.
Beyond the physical benefits, the mental and emotional rejuvenation is a significant draw. Clients report feeling a profound sense of peace and a reconnection with themselves. The post-float experience, often accompanied by a warm cup of tea, is designed to help integrate the session's benefits, making it a holistic wellness practice.
