What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Al Sunut Forest is a natural reserve on the White Nile, appreciated for its birdlife and as a cool escape from Khartoum's heat. However, recent safety concerns, including reports of robbery and police advisories against visiting, have significantly impacted its appeal for tourists. Visitors are urged to exercise extreme caution.
"We were robbed at knife point about 4 hours ago by two young guys. They were probably in their twenties.
It was still day light. Please be careful if you go because it’s not that busy so perfect place to rob tourists.
We contacted the police and they told us it is not a safe place to go.
Honestly, it’s not worth the trauma. They took all our money and 1 phone. Luckily the other one was at the hotel so we can still communicate with friends and family. My daughter was terrified and is still pretty shaken up.
Really surprised because the Sudanese people have been so generous and open hearted during our trip. This is the only major negative experience we’ve had."
