Reviews Summary
Mirissa Harbour is a vibrant hub, especially for its world-class whale and dolphin watching tours during the season. Visitors praise the exciting marine encounters and the lively atmosphere of the fishery. However, some note that the immediate harbour area could benefit from better cleanliness, and sea sickness can be a concern on boat trips.
"This is point from where they take for whale watching. The journey start at 6:45 in morning. Need to reach there by 6:30. They serve breakfast in this 3 and a half hours journey. Boats are clean and nice. Rate is 60 USD per person. Pilot works hard to get us a view of whales. The fishery area is not so clean though. It needs improvement"

"On my trip to Sri Lanka, I went for Whale watching from the harbour of Mirissa. I must say, one of the best experiences of my life. The water is calm & breathtakingly blue. We didn't get to see any whale unfortunately but we saw a school of dolphins and also a cute sea turtle. Our boat was pretty good, we were sitting on the top deck, refreshments like sandwiches and pineapple was also served. Charges were 50 dollars per person for the whale watching ride. Also, those prone to sea sickness should have medicines to stop vomitting."
