What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
North Jetty is celebrated for its powerful shore break, offering exciting surfing opportunities for experienced riders. While some find the local interactions less than friendly and advise seeking services further down the beach, others praise the instructors and good prices at specific surf schools. The break itself is a draw for its unique wave characteristics.
"It's the best place on a beach to learn how to surf. Very experienced teacher(20+ years). He is teaching you how become a very good surfer for sure. It's not just pushing you forward and say "up, up". It's more like real teaching stuff. Boards are soft and almost new."

"Milan is the owner. He is excellent teacher - but they do not ‘market’ so it is difficult to find out about them. Hikkaduwa is normally a good place for beginners, but he said today the waves are too strong. The other places would take your money and let you have a bad experience. You can stay right at their guest house on the beach, have a coffee at the brother’s restaurant and then learn to surf. Doesn’t get better than that! And his English is good as well."
Deb Belcore
"People are not friendly there. They will ask for your money for every additional thing. The same about cafe next to surf school. I DO NOT recommend to use that school and service around. Better walk 100 meters farther and you will get much more better service"
