"This review serves as a recommendation for a cultural and artistic visit. Since the 19th century, Torrero Cemetery has held great historical significance, reflected in many of its monuments and the importance of the many people buried there in numerous areas. The administration has occasionally failed to protect the monumental treasures of a city once called the "Florence of Spain." There are numerous examples of this neglect, such as the former Doctor Blesa clinic, currently in a state of disrepair, or the now-defunct "House of Peace." However, the cemetery, by its very nature, has largely maintained its essence of crucial events, sometimes tragic, such as the executions carried out at its walls during the Civil War, and sometimes more brilliantly reflected in the memory of important figures. In a world where tourism is largely based on spending money, it might be a good idea to come for a day and, without spending anything, take one of the marked routes to its numerous points of interest (many with explanatory panels). It is also easy to do alone, which increases the enormous power of the place."
