"A cemetery with truly impressive sculptures and tombs, some of them belonging to important figures or tragic events that occurred in the area. The galleries, chapel, and crypt are worth visiting. Although at first glance it might not be a place worth visiting for what it is (a cemetery), it is definitely worth doing so."

"An evocative place, like most of these places which should inspire peace and tranquility.
The building is majestic, with beautiful columns and blue ceilings that strike the eye.
Apart from a few family tombs and some sculptures, I have not seen any great works, such as the monumental ones in Milan or Staglieno.
As for peace of mind, they have placed the airport right next door, so a plane lands every 5 minutes and when it doesn't land, it takes off... 🙄
I always recommend a visit to the cemeteries of big cities, they are part of the culture of the place...

"The Vista Alegre Cemetery is one of the most beautiful in Europe. It opened in April 1902. Its design is attributed to Edesio de Garamendi and Enrique de Epalza. Important figures from Bilbao's history are buried in its streets. It features extremely interesting funerary monuments and sculptures created by the finest artists of each era.
The Bilbao City Council organizes guided tours. Some of them are dramatized, a fun and engaging way to learn about some of its distinguished residents."
