What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the tremendous panoramic views from Tabernas Castle, highlighting its unique desert landscape and cinematic significance. While some note limited signage and facilities, the manageable hike and the historical remnants are well-appreciated. The castle's role as a filming location adds to its allure, making it a worthwhile stop for many.
"Well worth visiting. The views from the castle are tremendous. We didn't see any signs to the castle in the town (like many Spanish castles, they could be publicised better), but the path starts by the car park of the sports complex in the town and is a proper paved road that you can push a push chair up if you want to. Well done to the local council for renovating the castle, even though it's a bit limited how much of it could be saved, but it gives a good idea of what it must have been like originally. Although some of the renovation is a bit odd, we didn't think it deserved the negative review some people have given it. It looks good from down below too."

Brandon Lopez
"The ruins of an old castle with the best panoramic views of the area. Free parking at the base. We hiked up to the castle for a picnic lunch. There are no bathroom facilities or trash receptacles."
