What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests praise the Torre de la Plata's excellent, central location, making it easy to access Seville's main attractions and find dining options. While some found the air conditioning inconsistent and amenities basic, the prompt service and cleanliness were highlighted as positives. The proximity to everything is a major draw for visitors.
"The location is very convenient for visiting the marquee sites in Sevilla. There's a ton of food options right outside and a walkable grocery for supplies. The room was functional, although when we first arrived we had to figure out the AC and never really figured out how to get it right. It was an on/off scenario, but it worked! There's a typical EU bathroom. We wound up opening a window when we showered to release the steam. The bed definitely could use an update and some extra pillows. The provided towels did not include anything for the bidet. There was no laundry detergent in the kitchen. I left ours, so hopefully others can enjoy. There's also no dish soap and only 2 coffee pods. We made it work, but don't expect niceties."

"Excellent stay. We were in room 2I. Check-in was all done automatically via email prior to arrival. There is an elevator to the rooms from the lobby. The room was very big, very clean, had a nice outdoor area with furniture and a parasol, however it was mostly too hot outside to sit for long. We had an issue with the air conditioning on our first day, i messaged via WhatsApp and they replied instantly, a maintenance man was in our room within 5 minutes and completely fixed it. Excellent service. Location is perfect for exploring Seville."

"Great location and good service with clean room, only issue is that the rooms didn't have very good air movement so they would get stuffy at night."

The Defense of Seville: Torre de la Plata's Role
Unlike the Torre del Oro, which has been repurposed and houses a naval museum, the Torre de la Plata has remained more of a historical monument, often overlooked by tourists. However, recent developments, such as the Balcón de las Herrerías project, aim to revitalize the area and highlight the significance of these ancient fortifications. This project includes an interpretation center dedicated to the walled enclosure, promising to shed more light on the tower's past.
Exploring the area around the Torre de la Plata offers a glimpse into Seville's medieval past. While you can't ascend the tower, its imposing presence along the Guadalquivir riverfront provides a tangible connection to the city's strategic history. It's a reminder of Seville's past as a vital port and a well-defended stronghold.
