Reviews Summary

Travelers consistently praise Seville for its stunning architecture, vibrant atmosphere, and rich cultural experiences. The Alcázar and Plaza de España are frequently highlighted as breathtaking highlights. Some visitors note that the city can be very hot, especially in summer, and recommend booking popular attractions in advance to avoid long waits.

"We’ve enjoyed many wonderful tours through Spain Day and our latest full day trip in Porto, Portugal was no exception! Our guide, Francisco, had studied history at university so his expert narratives of the history and culture of Porto along with a few funny personal anecdotes made it a perfect day. Our journey took us through both historical and new modern areas, beautiful little winding residential streets and we even had a chance to buy the delicious legendary pastel de nata (custard tarts) we had been dying to taste! It was already a perfect day and we finished it off with a fantastic visit/tour/tasting at Cockburn’s Winery. If you love port wine, this is the place to go!

From the initial booking process, to the expert driver and guide, to the after tour follow up I can’t recommend Spain Day more! Once again, we couldn’t be happier with our choice!"

"My husband and I did four different tours with Spain Day Tours during and after or Carnival Mardi Gras Transatlantic Cruise. Communication was clear. Price was fair. Guides and drivers were excellent. My favorite guide was Magdalena. She was our guide for the Montserrat and Cava Tasting Tours. She really knows and loves the history of Spain, even know she is a transplant. For the Montserrat Tour, we were picked up at the cruise port with our luggage and taken directly to the sights. Clear instructions are given to try to get right off the ship. "Meet between 0815 and 0829". Twelve of the 14 passengers listened. Two made us 45 minutes late. The bus was pulling out of the parking lot when they finally showed up. If it were my tour, that couple would have been left behind with no refund. After the tour, we were dropped off at our hotel. We did another tour of Segrada la Familia and Park Guel the next day and were again picked up at our hotel (this time by a prearranged cab) and taken to a central meeting point to meet the rest of the group. The guide again was very knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to go on other tours with Spain Day Tours or even send my elderly Mom. Each day was amazing. FYI, make sure you don't have any mobility problems, bad knees, need a walker etc. If so, most of the tours will be too much for you."

Kristina Sullins

"We absolutely loved our experience. We arrived in Malaga on the NCL Epic. The cruise sponsored tours to Alhambra were very expensive so we looked for other options and found Spain Day Tours. The bus guide was so friendly and was waiting for us as we exited the cruise terminal in Malaga. She gave us a wonderful tour during the 2hr bus ride to Granada (we have a brief stop for snacks and washrooms on the way there and back). She was friendly and knowledgeable. The coach was comfortable and the tour ran on time and got us back to the ship on time, as promised. Visiting the Alhambra with the smaller group (10 of us) was perfect. The guide onsite did a fantastic job as well and we had some free time at the end to enjoy a cup of coffee, gelato and visit the gift shop. This tour was the highlight of our cruise."

In-depth insights and expert knowledge

Exploring the Royal Alcázar

The Royal Alcázar of Seville is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a stunning example of Mudéjar architecture, a blend of Moorish and Christian styles. Originally a Moorish fort, it has been expanded and modified by Christian rulers over centuries. Visitors are often awestruck by the intricate tilework, ornate stucco, and peaceful courtyards. Instagram+1

Key areas to explore include the Patio de las Doncellas (Courtyard of the Maidens), the Salón de Embajadores (Hall of Ambassadors), and the sprawling gardens with their fountains and exotic plants. Allow at least 2-3 hours to fully appreciate its beauty. Booking tickets online in advance is highly recommended to skip the long queues. Instagram

Many visitors compare it to the Alhambra in Granada for its architectural splendor, and some even find its gardens more intimate and serene. The Alcázar's rich history and artistic details make it a highlight for any trip to Seville. Instagram

Seville's Vibrant Nightlife and Dining

Seville truly embraces the night. Unlike many cities, dinner service doesn't typically begin until 9 PM, and the city doesn't reach its peak energy until much later. This late-night culture is a core part of the Sevillian experience, with locals and visitors alike enjoying tapas and drinks well into the early morning hours. Instagram

Exploring the tapas scene is essential. Wander through neighborhoods like Triana or the historic Barrio Santa Cruz to discover authentic bars. Popular dishes include jamón ibérico, gambas al ajillo, and espinacas con garbanzos. Instagram Don't be afraid to hop between bars, trying a tapa and a drink at each. This is the best way to sample a variety of local flavors and soak in the lively atmosphere. Instagram

Beyond tapas, Seville offers a range of bars and clubs. For a unique experience, consider a traditional flamenco show, which often takes place in the evenings. The city's plazas and streets also come alive with people socializing, making for a memorable evening. Instagram+1

Day Trip Considerations

Seville serves as an excellent base for exploring Andalusia, with popular day trip destinations including Cordoba, Ronda, and the 'White Villages'. TikTok The high-speed train makes trips to Cordoba quick and convenient, allowing you to visit the Mezquita-Cathedral. Instagram Tours to Ronda often include stops at the picturesque 'White Villages' like Arcos de la Frontera or Grazalema. TikTok

While day trips are feasible, it's worth noting that some destinations, like Granada for the Alhambra, involve significant travel time (2.5-3 hours each way). TikTok+1 If you're short on time, prioritize the sights within Seville itself. However, if you have the energy and desire to see more of the region, organized day tours can be a hassle-free way to experience these nearby gems. Reddit

When planning day trips, especially from cities like Malaga, consider booking transportation and tours in advance. This is particularly important for popular attractions like the Alhambra or if you're traveling during peak season. InstagramReddit
