We were in the neighborhood and thought of trying out the dinner buffet at BBQ Tonight. To our surprise, they had reduced their prizes on offer..! The dinner buffet was for SAR 69 as against SAR 76 before. Their lunch buffet was also on offer for SAR 59 as against SAR 65 before. Had a very good time with their variety of dishes…! The Sarria Starting Point

Sarria is a significant town in Galicia, Spain, and holds a special place in the hearts of many pilgrims. It's the most popular starting point for the Camino Frances because it's the last town from which pilgrims can walk the minimum 100 kilometers required to receive the Compostela, the certificate of completion awarded by the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. This designation means that from Sarria onwards, the trails become considerably more crowded with fellow travelers. Reddit

Many travelers, especially those on a tighter schedule or seeking a more manageable final stretch, choose Sarria for its accessibility and the guarantee of earning their Compostela. The town itself offers all the necessary amenities for pilgrims, including numerous albergues, restaurants, and shops selling gear. The atmosphere in Sarria is palpable with anticipation, as pilgrims prepare for their final days on the route. Reddit

Navigating the Crowds

The influx of pilgrims starting in Sarria means that accommodation, particularly albergues, can fill up very quickly. It's a common piece of advice among experienced pilgrims to book your lodging in advance, especially if you are traveling during the high season (summer months) or have specific preferences. This is a departure from earlier sections of the Camino where spontaneous accommodation was often easier to find. Reddit

Beyond accommodation, the trails themselves will be busier. While this can foster a strong sense of community and shared experience, it also means you might encounter more people on the path. Early morning starts are often recommended to enjoy a more peaceful walk and to secure a bed in popular albergues. Despite the crowds, the camaraderie and shared journey remain a highlight for many.
