Visitors rave about the absolutely breathtaking and incredible views from Mirador de Cherfe, calling it an amazing spot with scenery that leaves you speechless. The winding roads leading up to it are also praised for their scenic beauty, though caution is advised. Limited parking means arriving early is a common recommendation for the best experience.
"Amazing spot with incredible views around, the scenery is definitely breathtaking.
Started early in the morning to skip some crowds and is also better for the parking as these viewpoints have limited parking availability and it can get full very fast especially later in the day.
The day started with sun and on the way back it was cloudy so we got to admire the scenery twice.
The winding road offers incredible views as well and is definitely worth it to rent a car and go everywhere around the island and enjoy the great landscapes!!
The roads can get pretty steep and narrow at times so always drive carefully and don't overspeed as you could easily provoke an accident and totally ruin your trip.
The quality of the roads is very good, many of them are recently done so take your time and enjoy the whole experience"

"Coming from Santiago del Teide, this is the first and highest viewpoint on the way to Masca. On one side, Teide, and on the other, La Gomera if visibility permits, and part of the further serpentine road. A great place to stop and think, contemplate. Sometimes you can find street food and mobile trade here."

"I was driving back after watching the sunset, and this place still looked amazing!"

The Journey to Masca
Driving Tips: Be prepared for narrow sections and steep inclines. It's advisable to drive slowly, use lower gears on descents, and be mindful of oncoming traffic, especially on blind corners. Renting a car with good handling is recommended.
What to Expect: As you ascend, the views open up, revealing the vastness of Tenerife. Mirador de Cherfe provides an excellent vantage point to appreciate the scale of the volcanic terrain and the distant islands. It's a place to pause, breathe in the mountain air, and prepare for the even more dramatic scenery awaiting you in Masca itself.
Capturing the Tenerife Landscape
Best Light: For the most dramatic and vibrant photographs, aim for the golden hours – shortly after sunrise or before sunset. The low-angled light accentuates the textures of the mountains and casts long shadows, creating a sense of depth and drama. However, even midday sun can yield stunning results, especially when capturing the stark beauty of the volcanic rock.
Composition Ideas: Experiment with different compositions. Use the winding road as a leading line to draw the viewer's eye into the landscape. Frame shots using the natural rock formations or sparse vegetation. Don't forget to capture the scale by including a person in your frame, or focus on the intricate details of the volcanic terrain.
