What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Rota Ferry to Cadiz is a convenient and cost-effective way to travel, praised for its speed and value. However, travelers frequently encounter organizational issues, including long queues, unclear parking, and unpredictable cancellations due to weather, leading to frustration. Advance booking and checking conditions are key for a smoother experience.
"Book ur tickets for boat to Cadiz the day before if possible. There were 40 tickets prebooked for a group the day we went. The bus was running instead of the boat due to fog and there were only 54 seats available. Boat trip next day was perfect."

"This is a ferry service from Rota to Cadiz. All you have to do is show up, buy a ticket and get on the ferry. Hard to screw that up.
Or so I thought.......
We showed up forty minutes before departure and joined the end of a long line in the sun. The ticket office didn't start selling tickets until twenty minutes before sailing, we made it about halfway to the ticket window before the boat left.
The ticket office then closed so we couldn't buy tickets in advance for the next sailing in ninety minutes. The queue deteriorated into an angry mob and we left.
With this sort of organization it is little wonder Sir Francis Drake was able to sail right into the port of Cadiz to "singe the king of Spain's beard"."

"GPS directions here are garbage and trying to find where to go for the ferry is frustrating. It is not clear when you should have to pay for parking and there is never anyone around to help. The ferry randomly isn't running with no easy way to know when it is or isn't. Online it will list ferry times and then say "unavailable". When visiting the terminal there will be no person available to consult. Very frustrating."
