What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Loro Parque for its stunning animal exhibits, well-maintained grounds, and spectacular shows, highlighting the visible care for the animals. While many find it an amazing family day out, some note that it can get very crowded during peak season, leading to difficulties securing spots for shows and potential parking issues.
"Amazing family day out! you can see the animals are happy and well looked after.. especially being animal lovers ourselves and having been to some of the best zoo’s in the world (San Diego zoo). The shows were all amazing and our little girl who is 3 loved them! Lots of food available and at a reasonable price. We didn’t have parking included and had to park about a 15 minute
Walk away but it’s was a lively still along the coast and we went to the black sand beach afterwards as that was on the way. Well definitely be returning :)"
Jordan Woodward
"Conclusion: It is worth going to this wonderful park.
There is no more beautiful and well-kept park than Loro Parque. The love for the animals and the attentive care of the staff towards them is clearly visible. The shows are extraordinary. We liked the parrot and sea lion shows the most.
I recommend buying Twin Tickets which includes entry to Siam Parque + Loro Parque. And then within 20 days maximum, take Siam Night between July and August, because you get entry to Siam Night for €30 if you prove that you were there during the day. It's totally worth it!"
Alexe Robert
"The Loro Parque itself is beautiful and has a lot of animals to see.
However, we visited during summer and it was really crowded. There was no wait for the tickets but we were not able to see the dolphins as it was full 15 min before start. We managed to see the orca show (arrived quite early to catch good spots) and a part of the seal show. Both were very nice and we were having a great time. If you choose to sit in the splash zone for the orca show, be prepared to get really wet.
It claims there is parking for guests but it was completely full when we arrived around 12:00. We had to find parking somewhere else and walk for about 20 min to get back to the park.
Overall, we enjoyed the trip but maybe it would be better to visit not during the peak vacation season."

The Loro Parque Experience: More Than Just Animals
Beyond the impressive animal collection, Loro Parque offers a visually stunning experience with its lush landscaping and themed environments. From the icy realism of Planet Penguin to the tropical feel of Amazonia, the park is designed to transport visitors to different ecosystems. The architecture and design contribute significantly to the overall atmosphere, making it a beautiful place to explore, not just to see animals.
Many visitors highlight the spectacular shows as a major part of the Loro Parque experience. The Orca Ocean, Dolphinarium, and Sea Lion shows are particularly popular and showcase the animals' intelligence and training. However, it's crucial to plan your day around these performances, as they are a significant draw and can get very crowded. Arriving early is key to securing a good viewing spot.
Navigating Loro Parque: Tips for a Smooth Visit
Tickets and entry can be managed efficiently by booking online in advance, which often saves time and money. The 'Twin Ticket' option, combining Loro Parque with Siam Park, is a popular choice for those wanting to experience both attractions. Upon arrival, grab a park map and check the show schedule immediately to strategize your day. Remember that popular shows fill up quickly, so factor in ample time to reach the venues before they start.
When exploring the park, comfortable footwear is essential due to the extensive walking involved. The climate in Puerto de la Cruz can also be slightly cooler than other parts of Tenerife, particularly near the penguin exhibit, so dressing in layers is a good idea. Be prepared for the 'splash zone' at the orca show if you choose to sit there – it's an exhilarating but very wet experience!
