Reviews Summary

Visitors often praise Ponferrada as a significant and historically rich stop on the Camino de Santiago, particularly highlighting the impressive Templar Castle and the unique artistic tunnel. The city offers good amenities for pilgrims and a taste of local culture and cuisine.

"We found it by chance. Looking for a place to eat we asked some people and they gave us a reference to a restaurant in the Compostilla neighborhood (we have reviewed it), eating on the terrace we saw pilgrims crossing a passage near us (some approached the restaurant to have their pilgrim document stamped), it wasn't one, there were quite a few, curiosity made me ask the waiter, it is a passing place when visiting this town on the Camino de Santiago. Later I approached the passage, it is painted with graffiti, I had to take photos."

Lluis Higini Melero Peris

"A must-see when visiting Ponferrada on the Camino de Santiago.
Located in the Compostilla neighborhood, once you've left "La Fábrica de la Luz" (The Light Factory) or "Museum of Energy" behind, this small—but extremely distinctive—urban underground tunnel takes us to the picturesque Church of Santa María de Compostilla, nestled in a large green area where the stone sculptures of the Virgin Mary stand out.
The unique feature of this "tunnel" is the painted murals that adorn its walls, reminiscent of "representative graffiti" of this emblematic city on the French Way of St. James."

Edu Martín

"Incrível como somos transportados no tempo. Alguém me disse "Nós somos o resultado do nosso passado". Aqui, onde quer que estejas, há sempre algo a levar-te ao passado."
