Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Playa de Antilles Cué, calling it a hidden gem with beautiful, clear waters and stunning natural scenery. The unique opportunity to walk to the islands at low tide and the spectacular sunsets are major highlights. While the beach can be significantly reduced at high tide, its free parking and seasonal beach bar add to its appeal.

"I would say this is one of the best beaches in the area. It has nice water during low and high tides. Also, it has parking which is free of any admission + a bar just on the beach. You can sit on the sand or grass to get a tan and the nice rocks in front of the beach make the sight incredible. The beach is not in many recommendations but I think it hasn't yet been discovered."

Chifan Radu

"Very nice beach, Cristal clear water during high tide, the beach was almost fully submerged in the morning, beautiful views and you could enjoy nice swim if it is not cold."

Tensen Varghese

"One of the beautyest beaches of Llanes county. 2'5 Kms away from Llanes town, great parking area, you can approach by having a walk, by bike or in your car. There is a bar that opens on summer season. Great seasights and one of the greatest places to spot a good sunset. Better to go with low tide, some days you can literally walk to the islands. Clean sand, no rocks in the water. Great for swimming, paddle surf, kayaking and diving."

In-depth insights and expert knowledge

The Magic of Tides at Playa de Antilles Cué

Playa de Antilles Cué, also known as Playa de Canales or Antilles, is a beach whose character dramatically transforms with the ebb and flow of the sea. Its most captivating feature is the sandbar that emerges at low tide, creating a natural pathway to the small islands offshore, including Isla Grande (La Islona). This allows visitors to walk out and explore these rocky outcrops, a truly unique experience. Instagram+1

Conversely, during high tide, much of the sandy expanse can be submerged, and the waters can become more dynamic. Some visitors note that the beach can be 'absolutely impossible to come to the water' at high tide, while others enjoy the clear, calm waters for swimming. It's essential to check the tide charts before your visit to maximize your enjoyment and safety. InstagramReddit

This tidal dependency makes Playa de Antilles Cué a dynamic destination. Whether you're looking to explore the seabed at low tide or enjoy a refreshing swim at high tide, understanding the tidal patterns is key to experiencing the full beauty of this Asturian gem. Instagram
