Reviews Summary
Los Naranjos Golf Club is praised for its beautiful course and challenging layout, offering stunning scenery and a memorable golfing experience. However, some visitors have encountered issues with staff courtesy and strict policies regarding non-playing guests, leading to disappointment for those expecting a more welcoming atmosphere.
"Lovely course. Fairly wide fairways with amazing scenery and lots of fun to play. 18th hole is quite challenging but very fun."

"What a rip off. We were kicked off the course because my daughter was accompanying us by riding in the buggy (she doesn’t play but was visiting from university). She came for a day out but we were told on the third tee to either rent her a set of clubs or go home. When I questioned this with the pro shop we were met with a smirk and told to leave. Pure arrogance. This place is a scam and should do better. I’ve played it plenty of times as I’m a golf professional in Spain and know how a club should operate. Zero refund or apology.
Don’t waste your money here as there are plenty of more welcoming clubs in the area."

"Superb golf in stunning villa lined surroundings this October, the only star lost was for them over-filling the course. It was packed the whole way around but regardless, the sun was shining and it was in great condition, the beer was cold and the company I was paired with was excellent so 4*"

Navigating the Course: A Golfer's Perspective
While the course is in great condition, some visitors have noted that the greens can be exceptionally fast, which might pose a challenge for less experienced players or tourists accustomed to slower surfaces. The layout is considered technical, requiring thoughtful shot selection rather than brute force. This makes it a course where strategy and course management are key to scoring well.
For those looking to practice, Los Naranjos offers a driving range and other practice facilities. The overall experience is designed to be premium, reflecting its status as a top golf destination on the Costa del Sol. However, it's worth noting that some reviews mention a perceived lack of courtesy from staff, which can impact the overall guest experience.
The Los Naranjos Experience: Beyond the Fairways
However, potential visitors should be aware of specific club policies that have caused friction. There have been instances where non-playing guests accompanying golfers in buggies were asked to either rent clubs or leave the course. This strict approach has led to negative reviews, with some visitors feeling the club's attitude was arrogant and unwelcoming. It's highly recommended to clarify such policies with the club in advance to avoid any misunderstandings or disappointment during your visit.
The club is situated in the prestigious area of Nueva Andalucía, often referred to as the 'Golf Valley,' surrounded by beautiful villas. This prime location means that while the club itself offers a refined experience, the surrounding area also provides ample opportunities for dining and entertainment, should you wish to explore beyond the golf course.
