Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Royal Botanical Garden Madrid for its stunning seasonal displays, particularly the wisteria and tulips, and its tranquil atmosphere. Many appreciate the affordable entry fee and the free Tuesday morning access. Some find the garden can get crowded during peak times, and wish for more extensive dining options within the grounds.

"Wonderful garden of almost every major species of tree and plant in the world. The signage for each plant shows the Latin species name and the location for each plant. There are also special times in the year where each tree or plant blooms. Special when you see the rose garden blooms, late June early July.

The pathways are clear and straight, which brings you into each segment of the garden.

Designated statues pay tribute to special historical figures. Carlos III and others.

The trees are large and provide adequate shade for most of the garden in, which is useful in July August hot months +30C.

Benches are dotted along the paths as well. Fountains can be found throughout.

Special place to recognize the different plant species . There is also a special olive tree from the garden of Gethsemane.

Adults over 18 pay 4€. Otherwise free."

"Beautiful and huge. I especially loved the collection of bonsai some of which were over 100 years old. Its €4 at the door. Do not need tickets in advance in my opinion. when I showed up at the museum next-door for their free time at six, the line was around the corner. Instead of waiting in a line with everyone, I enjoyed the botanical gardens for an hour for four euros and then walked right into the museum with no line, but I’m sure the people that stood around in the hotline for an hour so way more paintings than I did"

Dirk Johnson

"I've been to this garden at different times throughout the year hoping it would have something interesting - but no, not yet.
It has such a wonderful location but it just doesn't seem to be given the care and attention that gardens in other cities and even other gardens in Madrid.
There is a small entrance fee."
