What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Real Madrid Foundation Campus Experience garners mixed reviews, with many praising its organization, engaging staff, and the thrill of the stadium tour. However, some parents find it expensive for the level of training provided and have raised concerns about supervision and communication. It's best suited for enthusiastic young players who value the Real Madrid brand and a fun, value-driven environment.
"I had a great experience at the MAX Residential CAMP for goalkeepers. The monitors and tutors spoke fluent English, and since they were young, they were able to connect well with the kids and keep things fun with jokes. The food was excellent, with options available for Muslim and vegetarian participants. The camp itself was quite large—we trained at around four different locations. The coaches were very professional, although they were separate from the monitors. One of the highlights was the tour of the Santiago Bernabéu, which was really interesting. I would definitely love to do this again!"

"Very bad. Absolutely terrible. Expensive, low-quality training, staff members with different opinions, coaches who ignored our children's needs. We requested to leave the camp early even though we had already purchased airport transfers, and they then made us handle our own problems just to earn the money. I want to tell all parents considering this summer camp: be careful! This is not a normal summer camp for your child to improve their soccer skills, but a money-making scheme."

"After reading some negative reviews, we had reasons to be concerned.
Our 9 year old son is finishing a week of Campus Experience Max and I decided to write this review to share our experience.
It’s been positive from the very start - we arrived on Monday morning @ the bus stop. Everything was super well organized and on time. Our son returned at the end of the day full of excitement from the experience. He immediately connected with several boys and had the best day one.
The second day he forgot his goalkeeper gloves and we dropped them off where they were training. We got to see the training in action - dedicated and very professional coaches. All the kids were engaged in what they were doing.
The third day went fantastic as well. They got to visit the Bernabeu stadium!
He said every day @ lunch time they have 2 plates and there is a lot of food. He normally doesn’t go for the 2nd plate option. For snacks they get sandwiches.
At drop off and pick up we talked to a few parents and did not hear about anyone not having a great time. There are several families doing this for the second or third summer. Many families from all over the world, but quite a few from Spain as well.
Drop off and pick up was handled by the monitors - very attentive and great with the kids. All monitors speak English (we live in Spain and our son speaks Spanish, but said that many kids without Spanish did fine, although some said there was a slight issue with not speaking Spanish and relying on translation).
All in all a fantastic experience that our son is already asking to repeat next summer. He wants to try the residential program and stay longer than a week."

Navigating Mixed Reviews: What to Expect
Positive reviews often praise the excellent organization, the engaging and friendly monitors, the quality of food, and the excitement of the stadium tour. Many families return for multiple years, highlighting the overall positive impact on their children.
Conversely, some reviews point to issues such as expensive fees for perceived low-quality training, lack of attention to individual needs, and instances of bullying being ignored. Some parents felt the 'high-performance' aspect was overstated, and that the camp was more of a 'money-making scheme'. Communication regarding language barriers for international participants has also been a point of concern for some.
It's crucial to research the specific program you're interested in and consider your child's individual needs and expectations. For children who are enthusiastic about Real Madrid and enjoy a fun, value-driven football environment, it can be a fantastic experience.
