Reviews Summary

This historic bakery is celebrated as the best place in Madrid for bread, offering authentic Galician loaves and delicious empanadas. While some find the Tarta de Santiago a bit unusual, the overall consensus is that the quality and traditional experience are well worth the visit and prices.

"BEST PLACE IN MADRID TO BUY BREAD. Simply that. Plus empanadas, embutidos from León and Galicia, some selected cheeses, muffins, canned food. It really deserves a visit and buying an hogaza de trigo de 1 kg, you can buy it sliced then freeze it and you will have great bread with olive oil every morning. I recommend together with salt D'Estrenc."

"Got the Tarta de Santiago, which was really good but also had an unexpected lemon-y flavor to it. It also wasn’t as dense as I thought it would be, and seemed to lack a strong almond flavor, but overall it was really good and would get again!

Disclaimer: I added my own raspberries to this, it doesn’t not come with lol"

"I got a Calamari sandwich from another place but I knew that wasn't going to be as satisfying for me because I am not a huge calamari guy so I saw a place with pastries in their glass counters. This place was called Museo del Pan Gallego. Looking for a savory snack I saw they had the Spanish Empanadas. The one I ordered was the Tuna but they also had egg, meat and a couple other options. The only interesting thing was there was no lights on lol. I took my order to go and enjoyed it in front of the Royal Palace."
