Reviews Summary

Visitors often praise the Monasterio de la Encarnación Madrid for its serene atmosphere and the fascinating historical and religious artifacts, particularly the relic of St. Pantaleon. The beauty of the Baroque art and the peaceful cloisters are frequently highlighted. Some visitors note that the experience is best enhanced by a guided tour to fully appreciate the history and significance of the site.

"A monastery founded by Felipe III, one of the kings of the Austria dynasty. There are 10 nuns still living in the place. The religious works of art inside the monastery are very impressive also do not miss the room with the relics."

JR Suarez

"This monasterio is right next to where I live. Internal looks like a monasterio and if you want a formal visit, you would need to book a 1-hour tour. The only thing I want to talk about is the tour guide. I kind of feel that he has done this hundreds of times to the point that he sounds rather monotonous and lack of interaction. I mean, I would get bored myself if I would need to say the same thing hundreds of time. So, if you are sleepy and didn’t take a siesta, don’t do this tour. Do it after you have enough rest.
Pretty amazing that there are many nuns living here who have consecrated themselves to not see the world forever and devoted their entire life in the enclosed monasterio without a ‘hi’ to the outside world."

I-Hsuan Liu

"What a wonderful place filled with works of art, paintings, relics and steeped in sacred history. The church is lavish and the tour guide was awesome. Really worth the visit!"
