Reviews Summary

Mercado de San Ildefonso is praised for its vibrant atmosphere, diverse international food options, and reasonable drink prices. It's a popular spot for groups and offers a lively urban experience, though some visitors caution about specific food stalls and crowded conditions during peak times.

"Great place for the atmosphere!
The food was nice and drinks were very cheap. The area on the ground floor is more comfortable for families, on the first floor you can only find high tables so not really suitable for kids."

Freddie Ruggieri

"not able to singularly locate this particular stall within the mercado, so leaving it here on the general mercado site

If you are looking for Asian food.
Just be extra careful ordering from the first 2 stalls upon entering the mercado.

The stall’s name is “Asiatico”
It sells sushi and “asian food”

Ordered chicken fried rice.
Costed 12.5€

Verdict : 1/10
The worst food i have had in Spain.
The worst fried rice i have ever had in my entire life.

Rice was under/uncooked.
The texture was hard.
Onion was raw. Definitely not sautéed long enough.

I will let the picture do the talking.

This mercado in my humble opinion is a tourist trap.

But in terms of environment - id give it a 4 stars amid the sweltering hot weather outside. It is fully air conditioned. Has outdoor area too.

The mercado itself has amazing vibes. Especially on the 2nd floor."

Su Lin Tan

"Decent Bulgogi and a Paulaner we
Weissbier. Tables are too close to walk easily. No space to walk around looking at each stalls offerings without bumping into people.
Fun and good variety, though."
