What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
El Cortijo offers an authentic and passionate flamenco experience in an intimate, local setting, often at a more affordable price point than central venues. While the performances are consistently praised for their talent and emotion, some visitors note that the food can be pricey and the show duration shorter than expected. Finding the entrance can also be a challenge for first-time visitors.
"Not a place that locals attend; just in a "local area," near the stadium. The performers are highly talented. The (freezing cold) venue with nice staff and performers talk in both Spanish and English. That aside, these are artists who have been honing their craft for decades, and it shows in the precision and passion. I loved how they watched one another perform with admiration.
The vocalist moved me. It all synchronized. I would have enjoyed a couple dancing.
This was my first flamenco show, so I don't have anything to compare it with. The price was right; can't say I would return.
If you catch the start of a game on your way out, the hype and fake smoke is where local experience will be."

"I took the tickets from get your guide. It was one of my favorite activities in Madrid. It made me so emotional. The dancers , the singer, the guitarist , everything was so authentic and passionate."

"This was my first flamenco show so I did not know what to expect. There were about 20 guests/ half full on July 4
Positives: easy to get to, small venue that was very cool and a nice change from the heat, talented male and female dancer, great guitarist, kind staff, food and drinks available
Negatives: the show was only 1 hour with a 10 minute break-no workshop or explanation of flamenco. I thought it was 1.5 hours, each dancer did a small intro/outro and a solo set. The singer was not my favorite. The smell from the frying of foods in the kitchen was strong and undesirable.
Overall, it was interesting, but I wouldn't return or recommend until I have something else to compare the experience to. I also learned that each night has different performers.
I wish they all would have did on stage at the end for a photo."
