"Staff were superb and service was quick. Meals are huge! The paella is good for 4 probably or more if you order a lot of appetisers. It was great and you get a plate of dried fruits at the end of the meal with a dessert liqueur. Oh at the start of the meal you get bread and olives as well. Bring your appetite when you’re dining here."

"We started our visit to Madrid by taking a paella cooking class. Although I make a pretty good one (or thought I did!) I learned the proper technique and ingredients. Then we asked around for the best paella restaurant, friends strongly recommended Casa de Valencia. We ordered the seafood paella, it was fantastic and included crab, crayfish, shrimp and mussels. A feast that we thoroughly enjoyed. For a starter we ordered the anchovies with toast and tomato spread, this was sublime, an incredible flavour combination. Along with our dessert orders they brought a complimentary plate of dried fruits and a sweet wine, a nice touch! Add to this the very professional and friendly service (thank you Sergio!) this may have been our best meal in the month we spent in Madrid."

"The worst Paella I have ever had:(
1. Overcooked, seafood & chicken as dry as the Sahara desert
2. Over salted, feels like eating see water
3. They didn’t properly clean the bones from the chicken, had to constantly take small bone bits from my mouth
4. OVERPRICED! 54 euro for 2 people, crazy!"

The Art of Paella at La Valenciana
TikTok creators often highlight the seafood paella as a must-try, noting the generous inclusion of ingredients like crab, crayfish, shrimp, and mussels. While some reviewers have had negative experiences with overcooked or oversalted paella, the consensus among many is that when done right, it's a culinary highlight. The restaurant also offers other rice dishes, such as the flavorful Arroz Caldoso con Bogavante (soupy rice with lobster), which provides a different yet equally satisfying rice experience.
It's important to manage expectations regarding portion sizes. A paella ordered for two is often substantial enough for three or even four people, especially when accompanied by appetizers. This generosity, combined with the quality of ingredients and preparation, contributes to the restaurant's reputation, even if some find the pricing on the higher side.
Navigating the Dining Experience
Beyond the main courses, the restaurant offers complimentary touches that enhance the meal. Guests often receive bread and olives at the start of their meal, though it's worth noting that the bread is charged if consumed. At the end of the meal, a plate of dried fruits and a dessert liqueur are typically offered, a nice gesture that rounds off the dining experience. This attention to detail, combined with professional and friendly service, as highlighted by satisfied diners, contributes to a memorable meal.
While most reviews are positive, a few have pointed out issues such as overcooked seafood or excessive saltiness in the paella. However, these seem to be outliers, with the majority of feedback praising the quality and authenticity of the dishes. The restaurant's ambiance, described as enduring with ochre walls, adds to the overall dining atmosphere.
