What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Los Cristianos Beach is a popular, family-friendly spot with calm waters and soft golden sand, ideal for sunbathing and beach volleyball. While convenient with many amenities and nearby dining, some visitors note potential odors from the adjacent port and prefer the cleaner, wider beaches nearby. It's a lively resort beach with easy access to activities and town.
"As someone who has vacationed along all the Mediterranean coasts, I first want to mention that swimming in the ocean offers a completely different experience - with high waves and strong tides. While Los Cristianos is a charming town in Tenerife, unfortunately the beach isn't as clean as it could be due to the nearby port. There's also a general odor present, albeit mild, which I'm comparing to other beaches I've visited. For example, Las Vistas Beach or El Camisón are much more enjoyable - they're wider, more beautiful, and relatively cleaner. At the end of the day, I don't think anyone wants to swim in a bay where large cruise ships and car ferries are constantly coming and going.
On the positive side, there are excellent beach volleyball courts available for those who want to play - they get wet from the waves which is great fun. One of the nice aspects of being in the town center is that you can easily shop at supermarkets for whatever you need. Additionally, there are dining options like McDonald's and Burger King in the surrounding area."

"Nice golden sand beach. There are plenty of sunbeds, but also lots of space if you want to lay down your own towel. Sunbeds are €3, and umbrellas are also €3. There are beach volley areas that you can play. Showers and toilets are available at the entrances. There are many tour companies around offering activities like diving, jet skiing, and whale/dolphin-watching boat tours. There are lots of restaurants, but they’re all quite touristy, so don’t expect to find any local food — mostly pizza, burgers, steak, pasta, and seafood. It’s smaller compared to Playa de las Vistas, which is just a 5-minute walk away"

"Playa de Los Cristianos is a long beach in the heart of one of Tenerife’s busiest resort towns. With soft pale sand and a gentle slope into the ocean, it’s especially popular with families and older travelers. The beach has earned the Blue Flag for its clean water, safety, and excellent services. Thanks to a breakwater, the ocean here is calm — no strong waves or currents — and lifeguards are on duty every day.
