The tour was incredibly interesting, and our guide, Francisco, was exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate about the geology and history of the caves. There’s free parking at the visitor centre, which made things easy, and the tour itself lasted around 2.5 hours – with over an hour spent exploring the tunnels. I’m surprised to see any negative reviews, as our experience was exactly as described on the website – informative, well-organised, and thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended if you're in Tenerife! He gave detailed explanations in creative ways und even interacted with the 2 kids in our group to make it more interesting and fun for them. The information he gave ranged from easy to follow to very detailed and scientific. Tip: Ask questions and he will give you interesting answers! :)
Some reviews say that the tour is 'lengthy and stretched'. Well, if you want the mass tourism program, where you run through the site in 30 minutes, this is not for you. However, if you like a tour led by enthusiastic professionals with great insights of lava tubes and their exploration, I absolutely recommend it (for every age)!

We’ve visited several caves around the world, for us this was a new experience. Our guide Mary gave very inters details on the way the caves were formed and showed a lot of nice things inside. The complete darkness when we turned off all lights was an experience in itself. We were very happy to be part of category 2. Visit the caves and you’ll discover what that means."
