"One of my favourite beaches in Costa Adeje. On a right day you can get some really juicy waves there. Fun in the water is absolutely amazing when the waves are there.
Toilets, changing rooms and showers all nearby.
Some free on street parking available nearby."

"Cute little black sand beach. Until about 4pm, the water is very shallow. So appropriate for small kids to play. Under the water, the terrain is rocky (not sharp). A pair of aqua shoes would come in handy.
It’s 11.50 euros for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella. If you are staying at the Melia, you can charge it to your room. Same goes for food and drinks at the little chiringuito."

"Nice, but not much sand."

The Volcanic Origins of La Jaquita
These volcanic formations not only create a stunning visual but also offer a unique swimming experience. The protected pools provide a calm and safe environment, shielding swimmers from the open ocean's waves. This makes La Jaquita particularly appealing for those who prefer gentler waters, including families with young children. The contrast between the dark sand, the clear blue water, and the rugged volcanic rock is a photographer's dream.
The area has been recognized for its quality, with the natural pools being awarded the Blue Flag for several consecutive years. This prestigious environmental award signifies high standards in water quality, safety, environmental education, and management. It underscores the commitment to preserving the natural beauty and ensuring a positive visitor experience at this unique Tenerife gem.
A Family Haven by the Sea
Beyond the water, the surrounding area is well-equipped to cater to families. A playground is conveniently located nearby, offering an alternative for children to burn off energy. The presence of amenities like toilets, changing rooms, and showers further enhances the convenience for families managing the needs of young children. The promenade also offers a pleasant space for a leisurely stroll, perhaps with a stroller or for older children to ride bikes or scooters.
While the beach itself is a beautiful black sand expanse, the shallow waters extend quite far out, making it suitable for younger children to paddle and explore. The overall atmosphere, especially during calmer periods, is one of relaxed family enjoyment, making La Jaquita a memorable spot for a day trip with the kids.
