I recently visited the Fuengirola promenade (Paseo Marítimo) and had a genuinely lovely experience. The area is ideal for a relaxed stroll by the sea, whether you're on your own, with family, or just enjoying a quiet moment with a coffee. It stretches for several kilometers along the beachfront and is well-maintained throughout.
One of the things I appreciated most was how clean everything was — the pavements were tidy, there wasn't any litter around, and even the benches and public areas looked like they are regularly looked after. It felt safe and calm, which made it even more enjoyable.
What surprised me (in a good way) was that it wasn't overcrowded, even though I visited during the afternoon. There were people walking, cycling, and sitting at cafes, but it didn't feel noisy or packed at all. You could take your time, enjoy the views of the beach and the sea, and feel like you had space to breathe.
I also used the public toilets, and although they weren't spotless, they were reasonably clean, especially for a public seaside area—definitely better than I expected. That small detail really helped make the overall experience more comfortable.
Along the promenade, you'll also find a good selection of restaurants and ice cream shops, and the palm trees add a very pleasant Mediterranean feel. There are also play areas for children and exercise equipment for adults.
All in all, a very pleasant experience and definitely worth a visit if you're in Fuengirola. Whether you're after a morning walk, a sunset stroll, or just a place to unwind, the promenade delivers.

I recently visited the Fuengirola promenade and the experience was truly very good. It's a perfect place to walk along the sea, whether alone, as a couple, or with the family. It stretches for several kilometers along the beachfront and is very well-maintained.
What struck me most was how clean everything was. The sidewalks were spotless, there was no litter, and both the benches and the common areas looked well-maintained. It's a place that exudes tranquility and order, which is greatly appreciated.
I was also surprised that there weren't many people, even though I went in the afternoon. There were people strolling, cycling, or sitting on the terraces, but there was no overcrowding or excessive noise. You could walk calmly, enjoying the sea and the scenery without rushing, something you don't always find these days.
I also used the public restrooms, and while they weren't perfect, they were quite decent for restrooms in a public coastal area. They were reasonably clean, and that made the visit even more comfortable.
Along the promenade, there is a good variety of restaurants, ice cream shops, and areas with palm trees that give it that lovely Mediterranean feel. There are also children's play areas and outdoor exercise equipment, which adds points.
In short, it was a very positive experience. If you're in Fuengirola, it's worth taking a stroll along the seafront, whether it's for a morning stroll, a sunset stroll, or just a relaxing break. Highly recommended."

"Very good, but it needs more speed enforcement and the tiles need to be repaired. I highly recommend it. My grandmother really likes the Fuengirola promenade, but a while ago there was a raised tile, and if it hadn't been there, the tree would have fallen. I've read that it's among the ten best promenades in Spain. Congratulations to the city council!"
