"I arrived in Finisterre @ 5pm .. my body was broken after 49Km walk that day , however I was determined to get to the pilgrims mass @6pm. And how happy was I that I attended.
While mostly is Spanish ( of course) the priest did some explaining in English . He was amazing and genuinely wanted to include everyone from all nationalities in the mass.
I especially enjoyed the blessing he gave to everyone individually ( as he asked us all to gather around the alter) and placed his hands on our head and said his blessing .. I had tears in my eyes as I thought of family members passed and friends who were carrying their own crosses.
One of the most moving experiences of my Camino and the best way to nearly finish.
After the mass, I marched up the hill ( with more energy to marker 00Km . And stayed to watch the sunset .❤️"

"Impressive chapel along the last few kilometers to Finisterre. We'll worth a quick visit."

"Having attended a few pilgrim masses and not understanding most of them, not even knowing which scripture verses were being read due to my lack of Spanish, I was discouraged and didn't think of attending another one except that a volunteer said earlier in the day there would be some English. It turned out to be the best pilgrim mass for me. The priest asked all the people where we are from, and started us to hum a hymn as a symbol of unity. And we all took turns to recite the Lord’s Prayer in our mother tongues. I was one of the few who managed to get one of 8 copies of the mass liturgy with English, French, Latin, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and I think Polish translations, which was really helpful (please provide more copies!). The priest also repeated his sermon (or at least part of it) in English, on top of explaining certain instructions in English. Each of us was also blessed with holy water and prayed for by the priest. I did not get to attend the pilgrim mass at Santiago but I suspect it will not top this one - this has a personal touch. This is one pilgrim mass where as a non-Spanish speaker I felt truly included and was moved by the service. Thank you."
