Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Es Trenc for its stunning, natural beach and the unique wildlife viewing opportunities at the Salobrar salt flats, particularly flamingos. However, some find the parking fees high, the beach can have seaweed, and waste disposal is a significant issue, detracting from the otherwise pristine environment. Reddit

"Slightly misleading point of interest as there was no path into the park from here. Instead, the place called “Salobrar de Campos” is right in the park and probably gives you the best chance at seeing flamingos. The path between the salt flats is an unkept clay road, so we found it best to park at the nearby hotel “Fontsanta Hotel Thermal Spa & Wellness” (free parking in front of their gate), and walk down the clay road.

Despite the difficulty finding the right place and then finding the flamingos, we did manage to see flamingos resting deep within the salt flats, so all in all it was a great trip"

Simon Brix

"too much waves so the water is not as clear as on the pictures and a lot of nude people and the parking costs 8€"

Nitu

"It's a nice beach to relax. For parking you have to pay 4€ (also in March) and they close parking at 18.00.
You can follow the sign for 'restaurant' and park for free."

The Salobrar de Campos is a crucial wetland ecosystem and a designated natural park, renowned for its salt pans and rich biodiversity. This area is a vital stopover for migratory birds and a permanent home for many species. The most iconic residents are the flamingos, whose vibrant pink plumage creates a striking contrast against the white salt and blue sky. Visitors often report seeing them in large numbers, especially during certain times of the year. Reddit

To best experience the Salobrar, it's recommended to access it via the unpaved road originating from near the Fontsanta Hotel. Es Trenc Beach: Pristine Sands and Natural Beauty

Es Trenc beach is arguably one of Mallorca's most famous and beautiful stretches of coastline. Its long, wide expanse of fine white sand and crystal-clear, shallow turquoise waters evoke a Caribbean feel, making it a major draw for tourists. Unlike many developed beaches, Es Trenc has retained a more natural and wild character, largely due to its protected status as part of the natural park. Instagram

The beach is known for its natural state, which includes the presence of seaweed (Poseidonia) washed ashore. While some visitors find this unsightly, it's a natural part of the Mediterranean ecosystem and indicates a healthy marine environment. Reddit The water clarity can vary depending on wave conditions, but when calm, it's exceptionally clear and inviting for swimming and wading. The beach is also known for its nudist-friendly sections, which might be a consideration for some visitors. Reddit

Access to Es Trenc is managed through parking areas that charge a fee. However, the experience of walking along this unspoiled coastline, with the sound of the waves and the vast blue horizon, is a significant part of its appeal. It’s a place to relax, sunbathe, and appreciate the raw beauty of the Mallorcan coast. Instagram

Conservation Efforts and Visitor Impact

Es Trenc Salobrar de Campos Natural Park is a testament to the ongoing efforts to balance tourism with environmental protection. The designation as a natural park aims to safeguard its unique ecosystems, including the salt pans and dune systems. Instagram Initiatives like dune regeneration are actively undertaken, often involving educational programs for students to foster environmental awareness. TikTokInstagram

However, the park faces challenges related to visitor impact. The accumulation of seaweed on the beach, while natural, can be a point of contention for some. More significantly, a lack of adequate waste disposal facilities has led to litter accumulating along access roads and in some areas, drawing criticism from visitors. Reddit This highlights the need for responsible tourism, where visitors actively participate in keeping the park clean by taking their trash with them. Reddit

Efforts are being made to improve the visitor experience while minimizing environmental impact. This includes managing parking and access to sensitive areas. The park serves as an important example of how natural beauty can be preserved, but it also underscores the shared responsibility of both authorities and visitors in maintaining its pristine condition for future generations.
