What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sa Foradada Viewpoint is celebrated for its breathtaking coastal scenery and spectacular sunsets, offering a truly magical experience. While parking can be challenging and the on-site restaurant is pricey, many visitors find the views and the unique rock formation well worth the visit. It's a popular spot, so expect company, especially during peak sunset hours.
"The Mirador de Sa Foradada feels almost mystical, as if time slows down the moment you arrive. It’s very easy to reach — there’s a small parking area just above, and only a short 2–3 minute walk takes you to the viewpoint. Nearby, there’s a restaurant with a breathtaking balcony view, quite pricey, but worth it for the scenery alone.
To get to the best spot, you’ll have to climb over a couple of gates, but locals assured us it’s perfectly fine to go in, even though it’s technically private property: just stay on the path and don’t wander off the road. It’s a truly magical place where light turns into poetry, especially at sunset. You can just stand there, mesmerized, watching the sea and cliffs glow in golden silence. One of those rare moments that fills you with awe and leaves a lasting impression."

"I visited at sunset. Parking was quite difficult.
There's a parking fee! It's not expensive, but it's not free either.
The viewpoint is packed with people.
The scenery is nice, but it's not worth the trouble to visit.
Especially the sunset, it's really just the sun going down below the horizon! Don't go expecting a great sunset view."

"What a view! If you're driving along the northwestern coastline of Mallorca, you have to stop here. A couple of minutes are enough, but you shouldn't miss out. I bet it's even better at sunset.
It's a popular spot, so you won't be to yourself here obviously. Paid parking spots are available and it wasn't as hard to get a parking spot when we were here in July 2025 on a weekday afternoon."

The Magic of Sa Foradada Sunsets
To fully appreciate this natural phenomenon, arriving early is key. Parking can be a significant challenge, especially during peak season and on weekends. Aim to be there at least an hour, if not more, before the sun begins to set to secure a good vantage point and avoid the rush. The paid parking lot fills up quickly, and finding alternative parking can be difficult.
While the main viewpoint is easily accessible, some of the most coveted spots might involve a short, informal climb over gates. Locals generally consider this acceptable as long as visitors stay on the designated paths and respect the private property. The restaurant at the viewpoint also offers a prime location for sunset viewing, though it comes with a higher price tag and requires reservations for the best seats.
Navigating Sa Foradada: Parking and Access
The main viewpoint is a very short walk from the parking area, making it accessible for most visitors. However, for those seeking slightly more secluded or elevated perspectives, there might be a need to navigate over a few gates. This is a common practice, and as long as visitors remain on the established paths and do not venture off-road, it's generally accepted.
Be prepared for crowds, especially if you visit during the popular sunset hours. The popularity of Sa Foradada means that it can get quite busy, and parking spots can be scarce. Visiting on a weekday afternoon, rather than a weekend evening, might offer a slightly less crowded experience.
