What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Lonja de Cudillero offers a picturesque setting with a lively fishing port atmosphere, but dining experiences can be inconsistent. While some visitors praise the fresh seafood and friendly service, others report disappointing food quality and unexpected charges, leading to a 'tourist trap' sentiment for some. It's a place to soak in the ambiance, but dining choices require careful consideration.
"We got there just before rush hour for lunch. We were seated as soon as we got there. We did not have to wait. We sat outside (not ideal on a chilly/windy day. We had semi good views of the sea. It was "relaxed," and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. You get to experience the vibrate tourist foot traffic and the delivery vans making drop-offs. Some of the staff spoke good English, and I heard them take orders and make menu recommendations in English. We 3 different sea food items and chips. We were initially given one small pack of ketchup. When we asked for extra, we were told we would be charged. They charged us 5 euros for 6 - 8 packs. They also charged us for the bread. The food is expensive for what is offered."

"For all the people who like good food and service, DON'T GO HERE!! We ordered 2 dishes and they were tastless, it was so bad that even we were so hungry we stopped half way. When we said something about they totally flipped, took are plates and then returned to put the ful bill on the table. The manager came to talk to us to tell us that we have to pay so we felt intimidated so we ended up paying. Anyway I want to prevent you making the same mistake so avoid this place!!!!! Extra note: they forced the bill on us while we tried to discuss it and they they gave us a cork and when we paid after a severe discussion ( dinero! dinero!) And i was having the discussion in Spanish..... horrible , in the end they chased us of the property!! And we have only been patient with them! So a tough lesson learned never go and sit on a almost empty terrace...."
