Reviews Summary

Platja de la Rubina is highly praised as a fantastic dog-friendly beach with fine sand and clear, shallow waters, perfect for both dogs and families. Visitors appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and the freedom for dogs to roam off-leash. Some note the lack of direct facilities on the dog section and the common afternoon winds.

"We drove all the way from London to enjoy a holiday in the area with our dog. We came to the area for dogs most days and loved it. Other owners are mostly respectful and pick up dirt. There are no toilets or beach bar at this end. You need to drive or walk to the start of the beach, which we were happy to do. The beach is quite wide and approximately 300m long so there is plenty of space. The sea was clear and lovely to swim in. It was shallow for a long way out. It gets windy every day in the afternoon but not so bad that sand is blown around. We will definitely come back again some day. Fabulous beach for dog owners and their pups."

"What is actually going on with our society in Europe that there are now more dogs than children? People think it's perfectly normal for dogs to bark and run towards people. On the coast here, there is absolutely no place where you are safe from barking, loose dogs and streets covered in pee and shit. Since the Middle Ages, we have actually managed to bury our excrement underground through sewers. Thanks to countless dog owners, there are again streets covered in pee and shit from their dogs. I have no idea when we reached the point where we think it's okay if unleashed dogs bark at us aggressively, and the owners consider this normal, but are surprised when I tell them that if their dog comes another meter closer, I'll give it a load of pepper spray. I know enough people with dog phobias who hardly dare go outside because of it. A truly strange development. I am a huge animal lover, but something is going terribly wrong here."
