Can Salvador de la Plaça is praised as a tranquil haven in a busy square, offering a vast collection of books, media, and language learning resources. Visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, helpful staff, and the convenience of a library card valid across the Maresme coast. Some wish for more diverse literary selections and extended hours.
"I don't understand why people complain about the noise. It is always calm and quiet when I visit. In fact I love coming out of the crowded loud square in to the library to sit and relax for a bit. Maybe there's an occasional younger group that talks loud but it's rare. Plus, they're just kids...calm down you old grumps.
There is an awesome selection of books, magazines, DVDs and even CD collection with many different genres and artist. They're is a couple of language lessons and a really thorough Spanish lesson set for English speakers. My wife and I always check this out when we are at our home there to learn more Spanish.
We often come to rent DVDs and you can look on the back to see if it is in Spanish with English subtitles. We will often do this to help learn Spanish as well. You can check out quite a few items at once as well. It's something like 30 items. Getting a card is easy, just bring your passport. You can even extend your checkout online. The library card is good in multiple libraries along the mAresme coast as well.
The staff is friendly and helpful enough. When we aren't able to relay what we need in Spanish, we find they often speak to us in English. At least those who are versed well enough do their best to help us in English."

"Excellent activities, good service, attentive staff, good facilities, Wi-Fi, a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent books in Catalan and other languages. I would like more titles by Latin American authors on literature and critical pedagogy, as well as Latin American culture. It would be fantastic if they extended the morning hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays because I'm used to libraries in my country not even closing at noon. I also miss the art exhibitions at my library and the wonderful project "La Caja de Libros," a small mobile library that travels from house to house and is very popular because the community participates in reading, especially the children."
