Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Salto de Bierge for its stunning natural beauty and refreshing river, making it an ideal spot for a hot afternoon. While the inability to access the main waterfall is a common disappointment, the upstream river areas offer ample space for relaxation and fun, especially for families. The need to bring all provisions and wear water shoes are frequently mentioned practical tips.

"Stunningly beautiful! A wide river, mostly shallow with occasional deep areas. Large pebbles as a riverbed. It’s a very picturesque wade through the water through the canyon. If you can bring aqua shoes for walking through the water.

Beware: the crossing after the entrance to the island is through a slightly deep part of the water. Have your swimming clothes on before!

It costs three euros to swim and you get a band to carry.

The island / bend in the middle has numerous spots to spread out."

"Nice way to spend a hot afternoon with family and friends. I advise to bring plenty of water and snacks as there is only 1 bar at the top of where you park to buy anything. You have to carry all of your stuff you bring across a small river crossing. For adults its not a problem but it's a little more than waist deep to cross so if you have small children you will need to carry them also. There are no umbrellas allowed but you can find shade everywhere to set up your place. I saw many people having lunch and drinks and the atmosphere was very festive. Some people even brought cooking stoves. The water is super cold but refreshing if it's hot. There are some small rocks to jump off which is fun for kids and adults. The bottom is rocks but they are not sharp, however if you have sensitive feet bring water shoes. You CANNOT access the water fall, I don't know if the photos on here are fake, but there is no access. The water can get deep in some areas and there are no lifeguards so you must pay attention to small children. Price was 3 euros for adults and kids under 12 were free."

"This is a beautiful place but the (probably necessary) changes were disappointing.

You cannot access the waterfall or the lower pool. You can only reach the upper river but can go upstream from there. The only "salto" that you can do is from a 2 meter ledge about 100m upstream from the waterfall.

This is still a nice place to visit, and only €3pp. The cafe is nice and convenient and there is plenty of shade on the beach side of the river. Just a shame that the waterfall and lower pool are inaccessible."
